As the Autumn nights are drawing in, there’s nothing nicer than snuggling up in front of a roaring fire with a warming mug of hot chocolate. I’m a big fan of fairy lights – we have some beautiful ones from Cable and Cotton strung up around our fireplace at the moment which really do make the room feel extra cosy!
Anyway, as Autumn is fully taking hold, I can’t help but reflect on my own Autumnal wedding back in October 2013 – we got married at the Treehouse at Alnwick Gardens in Northumberland at 5pm. I remember the leaves were turning and falling from the trees and it had that crisp feel that an October afternoon brings. It rained! Hey, some say that’s lucky! The ceremony took place in a part of the Treehouse that they call The Roost, a small and intimate ceremony with just short of 30 guests. We managed a few pictures in and amongst the treetops before the rain really set in and then settled in for the evening in the Treehouse itself with delicious food, atmosphere and most importantly many of our favourite people all in once place. October always was, now definitely always will be my favourite month!
A wedding ceremony can be small or it can be large, it can be indoors or it can be outdoors and most importantly, it can be your choice!
