OK – I am terrible at updating my blog. Terrible! So, now that I am in full wedding season, I thought it would be a good opportunity to update you on some of the weddings I have had the pleasure of conducting over the past few months. First up…the fabulous Mr & Mrs Metcalfe!

When I first spoke to Sam and Craig, I just knew their ceremony would be full of laughter and love. Sam’s dream was to have an outdoor ceremony, so this is where I came in. The venue they had chosen was the gorgeous Ormesby Hall near Middlesbrough. A National Trust venue that does have a wedding license for certain parts of the building, but not for their outside area. Incoming celebrant!

Sam, Craig and I met for a chat and discussed their wishes for the ceremony. They wanted to keep it fairly traditional, exchanging rings, saying their I Do’s but above all, they wanted it to reflect them as a couple, allow their personality to shine through the words and make everyone smile. They chose to write their own vows which were just beautiful, with a little humour too.

Sam and Craig chose to include a handfasting into their ceremony too. A tradition that neither was familiar with to start with but they loved the idea of.

A beautiful couple, a beautiful ceremony and we even managed to keep the rain away at just the right times!

Charlotte was amazing and provided a perfect service for our wedding. So many of our friends and family commented on how beautiful it was. It was exactly what we wanted and we can’t thank her enough.
